Adjusting to the Closing of Our Local Pub - Football, Food and More
Last Sunday we found out that our local pub was closing after nearly 35 years (it actually closed last Sunday). It wasn’t just a place to eat and drink, it was our local community center in many ways. As we search for a new community hub, Football Sunday is now home-based.
This does have some benefits. 11.99 for a six-pack of Corona Premier (3 1/2 carbs and 90 calories per 12 oz) is certainly cheaper than 5 or 6 bucks a pint for Coors Light. We also made our own boneless wings, with no-sugar-added BBQ sauce (Kinder’s Zezo Zugar Cali Gold. I think we bought it at Walmart and it’s apparently also available at Target. Very tasty) We cooked it using the air-fryer of our Ninja Foodie Oven.
Healthier eating and saving cash aren’t a bad trade-off at all.
Rach decided to make some low-carb brownies (see above). We swapped coconut oil for the butter, but otherwise, it was By-the-Box. The sugar-free sprinkles were snagged on Amazon. The brownie mix was a Walmart pick-up.
This week was a week of adjustment. Time to see what the upcoming week brings…
